The Pressed Barren
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 12 November 2009)

What in the interim box
          office is there of
          value
A digest of wanting
A broader, multi-sided
          compendium
Not that ruled by
          money and ulterior
          motive
Perhaps the views of the
          unbought
The insight into over-
          extended
          minorities
Balanced by some or
          all of the
          rest of us
Cumbersome as it may
          seem
As dictated by a self-
          enfranchised media
Seeking costs from the
          disempowered
Manipulated earnings
          for the intrinsically
          counter productive
Despising the ideal,
          the dream, the heart
Desperately revolving
          the dust
Of a long-ago dried
          out life

Scaffold
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 23 October 2009)

The light shines on the
          scaffolding of
          conundrum
As the victims fall in
          their various
          ways
Amid a hushed silence
          driven by
          money
So integral to the interplay
          of power and
          submission

Current mood: <|;^)) Monocontagion
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 20 October 2009)

A facile facade fading
Delivering unto death
A lifeless life
Monocontagion
Of a powerless elitism
Caged like a cut flower
Amid pangs for meaning
Marketed as favouritism
As firm as an Arctic thaw
And does the spin give rise to a second chance
Or crucifixtion at the self

Current mood: At Peace <|;^)) Dual Dynamism
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 5 September 2009)

The dual dynamism flowed
Dual dynamism despite drudgery
A dual dynamism pervades
One consuming, contentious
The other subsuming

From never an awe-struck position
They stand religiously
Clinging to a lost Eden
Though apples do keep the Doctor away
Still little is won on the periphery

So one moves with alacrity
Between two worlds
Softened by heart
To the needs of others
While satisfying self in so called ‘sin’

Woeful behaviour being up front
Telling it as it is
Seeking truth in competitive haste
Never knowing doubt
As well as you’re told to

Driven by ambition
Yours and theirs
Yours to keep sane
Theirs for the company
And warmth of desire

And in that dangerous place, solitude
Where all can be seen
Thought gives way to reason
And the heart hiccups into sensory delight
And wherewithal is found

From thence it came
The dual dynamism
Where all is second to none
And integration leaves you
At peace

Current mood: At Peace <|;^)) From Youthful Days
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 1 & 4 September 2009)

Youth came in from youthful days
While ageing seems tied to sequential hardening
A decreasing range of sexuality
Where motivation is thought out daily

Yet experience says that mellow’s arriving
And the whole has almost gathered
So much so that there is an easing
Where externals give way to self deepening
