Overcast
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 29 August 2009)

The overcast in life is free
It brings you joy eventually
If you can wait
Patiently

It’s neither here nor there
Your wanting spree
Dispersed among that qualifier
Learning

And your answers will come
With certainty
Either forcefully or in stillness
Listening

Reminiscent Trek
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 23July2009)

There was a bussle as I turned into the street
People, cars
Where I once lived
Up from the corner
My friend’s house
He seemed not at home
Next door, the source
A new two storey restaurant
Filled to the brim
With people
In and from a leafy suburb
Unusual
Then my friend in a car
As I spoke with him
I saw my other friend in the background
A very small spiral staircase was the entrance
To this new, bursting-at-the-seams, venue
The owners had done their research
Some kind of lowering slide
In case of fire
Then there was my background friend’s ‘X’
She looked great, slim figured as ever
Viewed from that very single way
All in all, a very mysterious experience
Coming off a heavy, long night out
On a sunny, warm morning
While on a reminiscent trek

Merlin The Cat
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 16July2009)

Merlin needs to feel secure
To feel safe in order to relax
With words of reassurance
He chooses in or out

Today, mid-winter
He settles by the heater
Momentarily alarmed by some workers next door
He resettles by my physically checking all is well

He ate a little food earlier
As he’d not eaten since early morning
And it was by then midday
Now he’s nestled by the heater

In that self-contented way

… And the strange thing is that I now feel the same

Intrepid Freedom
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 10&11July2009)

The dreams of the past
The hidden way
The things missed out on
The countless days

Where are they now
The people I knew
In their passing by
I grew

With each and every one
There was something new
And a spur to creative energy
Where are they now

I’m proud I’ve shed my crutches
Along with foolhardy ways
Yet it feels all too quiet
Somewhat retiring

Hey but here’s where real freedom lies
Intrepid freedom
Choices with clarity
Without being weighed down

A chance to reassemble
What I want and what I don’t
And work towards achievables
At just two tiles a day

Chalice
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 5 & 6 June 2009)

A repository of genetic mutation I am
The blood that courses through my veins
Pulsates the demands of those before me
It’s hard to be me
Yet there’s a sense of strange belonging
In the face of the many creeds and fears
Externally pressured upon me

A desert I must cross
With each recurring vacuum of the mind
Where opportunist creeds and fears jump in
To take away control
And self-motivation is the prize
Of dug-in persistent action
And an unsurrendered personal whole

Current mood: Esoteric <|8^)) Solitudinal
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 24 May 2009)

On a solitude cloud I ride
Observing my life below me
Where she hides and I follow
Where I lead and she tries

On a solitude cloud I ride
To see my anger subside to
Where they seem to know me
Before I seem to know them

On a solitude cloud I ride
As if I can be happy
Before the butterfly rests on my shoulder
Before the birds’ inspiring chorus

Current mood: Solitudinal <|;^)) Dreamer Prophesy
(A Poem-Prose written by Martin Eden on 23 May 2009)

Dreamer prophesy
What needs to be in the sky
Never once have you failed
Despite the dominance of greed and aggression

Dreamer prophesy
Our common path
Beyond borders, hierarchy and faith
Where we each determine our own fate

Dreamer prophesy
A life above hope
Where each has all needs satisfied
And none needs suffer in redemption while the few in usury feast
