- The Computer is automatically set to play BLACK.
- To START-a-GAME or to MAKE-a-MOVE, left-click on the WHITE piece you wish to move and then on the square you want the piece to move to.
- Castling, en-passent and pawn promotion are all catered for, but the rule "Game is drawn if a position repeats three times" is not implemented.
- The CPU performs an alpha-beta search to a depth of two moves, but does not examine 'check' at the deepest level which severely hinders its endgame play.
- You can get the Computer to play WHITE by checking 'CPU White' whereupon the Computer will automatically start the Game.
- You can get the Computer to play itself by checking both 'CPU White' and 'CPU Black'.
- To RESET 'CompuChess' at any point, simply "Refresh" the Page.
